Dada Bhai's birth anniv today

Today is the 94th birth anniversary of Rokon-uzzaman Khan "Dada Bhai", founder of Kachi-Kanchar Mela.

On the occasion, prayers will be offered and a discussion will be held around 4pm at 39, Saratgupta Road, Narinda, Dhaka, says a press release.

His notable works for children are -- "Ajob Holeo Gujob Noy", "Hattima Tim" and "Khokon Khokon Daak Pari".

Rokonuzzaman Khan, also a journalist and director of “Begum”, was born in Pangsha of Rajbari on April 9, 1925. He passed away on December 3, 1999.

Begum, a weekly magazine for women which was established in 1947, invites writings from all female writers -- including young and elderly -- for Eid Special 2019.

The write-ups must be sent by April 20.
