DB imposters rob two grocers in Gazipur

A gang masquerading as detectives picked up two grocers from Gazipur Sadar upazila and snatched away Tk 4.60 lakh from them.

Maqbol Hussain and Nasir Uddin were returning home with the money, just withdrawn from Islami Bank's Maona Chowrasta branch, when suddenly five men, dressed in khaki vests inscribed with "Detective Branch of police", got off a microbus and started beating them with a baton. They were also carrying pistol and wireless phone.

The five forced them into the vehicle, handcuffed and blindfolded them and finally dumped them in Bhawal forest.

Hearing their scream, people admitted the two to Kazi Hospital.

Gazipur DB police are conducting drives to arrest the culprits.
