Deal signed for sustainable fisheries sector

The Department of Fisheries and Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for promotion of sustainable growth in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Under the deal, the two organisations will collaborate to address climate-induced challenges in the sector, introduce innovative production, distribution and trade mechanisms, and make the shrimp and freshwater prawn industry more sustainable.

Dr Syed Arif Azad, director general of DoF, and Syed Mahmudul Huq, chairman of BSFF, signed the MoU documents at a hotel in the capital recently.
