Don't demolish illegal extension of railway workers' houses

A faction of Bangladesh Railway Sramik League Central Committee yesterday urged the railway authorities to evict illegal occupiers from railway's land before demolishing workers' illegal house extension.

The railway staff received a notice to demolish the illegal extension in September, said the demonstrators at a rally organised by Publicity and Publication Secretary Md Sirajul Islam led faction on Central Railway Building premises. Getting no response, the authorities started demolishing the illegal parts since before Eid.

They submitted a memorandum, including demands for renovation of the houses, sufficient water and electricity supply and quick completion of recruitment process, to the general manager of Railway's East Zone.
