DPDC snaps illegal electricity connection of Dhaka hotel

A special taskforce of Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd (DPDC) yesterday snapped the electricity connection to a high-rise hotel in the capital's Moghbazar for using electricity illegally.

It also fined Abdul Kalam, owner of the hotel, Green Tower, Tk 10.6 lakh.

On information, the taskforce raided the hotel and found that 70 percent of electricity usage of the building was not being recorded in the electricity metre.

A case was filed.
