EWU holds webinar observing Martyred Intellectuals Day

East West University (EWU) organised a webinar on Monday to observe Martyred Intellectuals Day, where speakers expressed their profound respect towards the martyrs for their sacrifice, said a press release.  

Speaker stated that the intellectuals served the country with deep patriotism, courage and honesty. They only wanted the welfare of the country and citizens, and that is why Pakistani forces and their local collaborators killed them ruthlessly.

The speakers called for building a non-discriminatory country, which was the martyrs' dream, at the webinar conducted by Prof Mohammed Farashuddin, chief adviser of EWU and a former governor of Bangladesh Bank.

MP and freedom fighter Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, actress Ferdousi Mazumder, freedom fighter M Siraz Uddin Miah, and children of martyred intellectuals' including Dr Meghna Guhathakurata, Prof Ziauddin Ahmed, Shawan Mahmud, Asif Munier, Roquaiya Hasina Neely, and Zaheed Reza Noor took part in the webinar, among teachers, officials, and students of EWU.
