Fakhrul, Falu of BNP get bail

The High Court yesterday granted bail to detained BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three vandalism and arson cases.

However, Fakhrul cannot get released now from the custody since he is arrested in three other criminal cases, his lawyer AKM Ehsanur Rahman told The Daily Star.

Of the former three cases, two were filed with Paltan Police Station on December 28 last year and January 4 this year and another with Motijheel Police Station on January 6 this year.

Following three separate bail petitions filed by Fakhrul, the HC granted him bail till submission of the charge sheets by the law enforcers.

Meanwhile, the HC yesterday granted another party leader Mosaddak Ali Falu permanent bail in a vandalism and arson case filed with Badda police on February 1 this year, clearing the way for his release from jail.

Earlier, Falu got bail from the HC in two other similar cases.
