Five injured as compressor of air conditioner explodes

Five people were injured as a compressor of an air conditioner exploded when it was being welded in the capital's Moghbazar area yesterday.

The injured -- Mahbub Hasan, 30, Masum, 20, Sohrab Ahmed Biplob, 20, Ahsan Habib, 20 and Sohel, 30 -- were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with 7-30 percent burn injuries.

The explosion occurred when the injured were working in Sarthak Business Corner at 10:30am.
