Former KCC mayor Tayebur Rahman dies
Former Khulna City Corporation mayor and BNP leader Sheikh Tayebur Rahman died at Nargis Memorial Clinic in Khulna city on Friday night. He was 79.
He had been undergoing treatment after he suffered a brain stroke.
He is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters. He was buried in Kabari village in Bagerhat.
Former forest and environment affairs secretary of BNP central committee, he was also the president of Khulna Bar Association.
He started his political career with NAP in 1965 and once served as Bangladesh ambassador to Senegal. He had held the office of mayor for 17 years.
