Gayeshwar finally walks out on bail

BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy was released from jail on bail yesterday.

He walked out of the Kashimpur High Security Central Jail around 1:30pm, said Senior Jail Super Mizanur Rahman.

Local BNP leaders and family members received him at the jail gate. Gayeshwar was sent to jail on November 4 after he surrendered before a court in a case filed for torching a bus in the city's Malibagh area during the "March for Democracy" programme called by the then BNP-led 18-party alliance, on December 29, 2013. He also obtained bail earlier in all 27 cases filed against him.
