HC allows three Dhaka colleges to admit XI students thru tests
The High Court yesterday cleared the way for Notre Dame College, Holy Cross College, and St Joseph College in Dhaka to admit students of class XI through holding admission tests.
Responding to a writ petition jointly filed by principals of the three colleges, the court stayed the government June 1 decision that asked colleges to enroll students on the basis of the merit-list to be prepared by the government in next six months.
The bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir also issued a rule upon the government to explain in four weeks why its decision on merit-list based admission should not be declared illegal.
