Ilias Ali can be traced if govt takes it seriously
Tahsina Rushdir Luna, wife of missing BNP leader Ilias Ali, yesterday said although Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assured them of locating Ilias, there has been no news of the BNP leader.
She believes it is still possible to get him back, if the government takes the issue seriously.
"There is nothing new to inform you [reporters]. After the incident, I met Prime Minister [Sheikh Hasina]. She assured me we would get him back. But we did not get him back," Tahsina Rushida told reporters at her Banani residence.
She made the remarks when a BNP delegation led by the party's international affairs secretary Assaduzzaman Ripon went to meet family members of the missing BNP leader.
Ilias, former lawmaker and organising secretary of BNP's Sylhet division, and his driver Ansar Ali have been missing since April 17, 2012.
Ripon said it was a very sad day for his family and the party. Like Illias Ali's family, the party is also eagerly waiting for his return.
