Juvenile Centre: MJF demands justice for 3 killed boys
Expressing grave concern over the incident of the killing of three boys at the Jashore Juvenile Development Centre, Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) has demanded exemplary punishment of the perpetrators through an impartial investigation.
According to MJF, whatever the reasons behind the killings are, indifference and negligence of authorities have become evident through it. There are allegations that authorities did not take any significant action, despite receiving complaints of a clash on August 13. Besides, according to media reports, there was anger among the teens over mismanagement in food distribution. There are also allegations that authorities beat them.
Currently, 280 teenagers are staying in this development centre, and authorities cannot neglect responsibilities of their safety, security and development, it said.
MJF demanded that the children be provided physical and mental security instead of being abused and responsibility of their maintenance be formulated properly.
