Man dies in Dhanmondi lift crash

A man died after a lift fell to the ground from the third floor with him inside due to snapping of its cable in an apartment building of the capital's Dhanmondi yesterday.

The deceased, Nuru Miah, 45, was the chauffeur of a resident on the third floor of the six-storey building, police said. The accident occurred when he was descending from his employer's flat. Nuru, with serious head injury, was rushed to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to the injury.
