Man held with 25 smuggled gold bars at Kamalapur Railway Station

Police arrested a man on charge of having in possession 25 gold bars, weighting 3 kilogrammes and worth Tk 1.25 crore, in the capital's Kamalapur Railway Station yesterday morning.

Joynal Abedin, 55, arrived on the Turna-Nishita express train from Chittagong. On information, law enforcers frisked him and recovered the bars hidden inside his shoes, said Officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station Abdul Majid.
