Man killed by his brother over 'extramarital affair'

A man was beaten to death by his younger brother yesterday at Moulvi tea garden in Moulvibazar Sadar upazila following an altercation "over love affair."

Deceased Santo Gonju,50, was elder brother of Mona Gonju.

Moulvibazar police said an altercation ensued between Santo and Mona over Santo's developing a romantic relation with Mona's wife. At one stage, Mona hit Santo with a bamboo.

With serious injuries on head, Santo was rushed to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead, added the police.

Five persons including Mona were arrested in this connection.
