Mortar shell found while digging

A dead mortar shell was found in Hili area under Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur on Thursday noon.

Locals recovered it while re-excavating an abandoned pond in Bualdar village of the upazila, said Mokhlesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Hakimpur Police Station.

The shell might have been left there during the Liberation War, he added.
