Obituary

Nasima Banu, a central committee member of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League, died of old-age complications at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital yesterday, aged 70.

She was wife of Dr SA Malek, ex-political advisor of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during 1996-2001.

The prime minister expressed deep shock at her death. In a message, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
