Obituary

Mirza Tofazzal Hossain Mukul, a member of advisory council of Awami League and former president and general secretary of the party's Tangail district unit, died due to old-age complications at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital on Monday. He was 87.

A Language Movement veteran and Liberation War organiser, he was also a member of the constitution making committee of Independent Bangladesh.

He left behind three sons and two daughters. He was buried in his family graveyard in Dighulia village of Tangail Sadar.
