AKM Rezaur Rahman, former additional secretary, died on Sunday while under follow-up treatment in Bangkok Hospital, subsequent to open heart surgery in Dhaka on April 4. He was 75.

He worked in various important administrative and diplomatic positions under the government and in International Jute Organisation.

He was the General Secretary of Padakkhep 64, an alumni association of the students who passed post-graduate from Dhaka University in 1964. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Sonali Bank.

He left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter. He was buried in his village Kapasia in Gazipur yesterday.
