Polythene factory sealed off in Ctg

The Directorate of Environment (DOE) in Chittagong sealed off a polythene manufacturing factory in Pahartali hilly area of Uttar Kattoli in the city yesterday.

A total of 1,324kgs of banned polythene, huge raw materials, two polythene making machines and other machineries, worth around Tk 10 lakh, were also seized from the factory.

None of the owners or employees was present during the drive, DOE officials said.
