Pro-BNP ward councillor held in Rajshahi for subversive activities

Detectives yesterday arrested a pro-BNP ward councillor of Rajshahi City Corporation in the city's Bheripara for his alleged involvement in subversive activities.

Ruhul Amin Tunu, councillor of Ward No-4, is also general secretary of the ward unit of BNP, said Iftekhair Alam, assistant commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.

He is an accused in some cases filed over violence during BNP's blockade, said Alam.

With Tunu, three ward councillors were arrested in the city for such violence.
