Rab arrests two with firearm and yaba

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-11, CPC-2) arrested two persons in possession of a foreign pistol with four rounds of ammunition and 56 yaba pills from the house of Abdul Kader Zilani, president of Chatra League Nimshar Mokam union unit, early yesterday.

The arrestees are Forhad Hossain, 34, from Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria, and Shahin Bhuiyan, 38, from Nimshar Mokam in Burichang upazila, said Rab sources.

At a press briefing, Pranab Kumar,  assitant superintendent of police at Rab-11, said, “Rab was informed that some criminals were planning to sell drugs and conduct other criminal activities in the area.”

A team of Rab conducted the drive and arrested two from the guest house of Abdul Kader Zilani.

Rab seized the pistol from Forhad and the yaba pills from Shahin. ASP Pranab said Zilani is on the run.
