Rashid Babu passes away

Rashid Babu, president of Rangpur Press Club, passed away following a cardiac arrest at his home on Saturday morning, aged 68.

He left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter, and numerous well-wishers.

He was involved in various socio-cultural organisations in the district.

According to his family, Rashid underwent open heart surgery in March after he suffered a cardiac arrest. On Saturday, he was feeling sick and his family took him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he died around 5:22am.

Rashid started working as a journalist in Rangpur in the 1970s.

He was buried at his family graveyard after a janaza at Jummapara Karimia Madrasa ground.
