Reckless driving again kills 3 kids

Reckless driving again claimed the lives of three more kids including two of a family in two districts yesterday, a day after two others were killed in road accidents.

In Chittagong, two kids and their mother were killed while their father was injured in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying them on Muhuri Project road in Tita Battol area of Mirsarai upazila.

The deceased were Saheda Begum, 32, and her two sons Saimon, 10, and eight-month-old Saidul Islam. Saheda's husband Md Didar sustained minor injuries, said Sub-inspector of Jorarganj Police Station Mainuddin.

Didar along with his wife and three kids was going to their village in Imampur of the upazila from Dhaka. Didar's daughter, however, was unhurt, said police.

In Dinajpur, seven-year-old Armina, daughter of Arman Ali of Buniadpur village, was killed as a motorcycle hit her near Buniadpur Bazar in Biral upazila.

A class I student of Buniadpur Government Primary School, Armina  was going to school when the incident occurred.

Meanwhile in Chittagong city, Rezaul Karim, 28, of Patuakhali, was killed when an unidentified vehicle hit him while he was crossing the road in Mailer Matha area.
