Reckless driving killed three people, including a woman and her five-year-old son, and injured 30 others at Mohipur near Dairy Farm area of Sherpur upazila in Bogra yesterday.

The incident occurred when two buses collided head-on on Bogra-Dhaka highway in the area.

One of the deceased was Nabir Hossain, 42, of Savar. He was one of the bus drivers. However the identity of the woman, aged around 35, and her son could not be known immediately, said Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Police Station Khan Md Erfan.

In Natore, a police constable was killed and injured as a covered-van hit their motorcycle in Kadamchilan area of Lalpur upazila yesterday.

The deceased was Rahmat Ali, 48, constable of Walia Police Outpost. He hailed from Pabna. The injured is Assistant Town Sub-Inspector Khairul Islam.

In-charge of the outpost Jamat Ali said Rahmat and Khairul were going to investigate a case when the incident occurred.

In the capital, an unidentified man, aged around 30, was killed and 10 others were injured when a bus hit them and turned turtle after the driver lost his control over the vehicle at Postogola Buriganga Bridge-1 yesterday.

Meanwhile in Dinajpur, 20 passengers were injured when a bus skidded off the Thakurgaon-Dinajpur road in Bamunia village of Birganj upazila yesterday.
