Reckless driving kills 7-year-old girl in N'ganj
Reckless driving killed a seven-year-old girl on Demra-Kaliganj road in Bauliapara area of Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj yesterday.
Antora Akther daughter of Azhar Mia of the area was killed when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw ran her over while she was crossing the road, said Officer-in-Charge of Rupganj Police Station Mahmudul Islam.
In Munshiganj, two people were killed and seven others injured when a bus fell into a ditch beside Dhaka-Mawa highway in Sreenagar upazila yesterday.
The deceased were Shimanto Mallik of Ghoramara village and Shohidul Islam of Keotakhali village.
In Bagerhat Sadar, auto-rickshaw driver Takdir Fakir, 20, was killed when a bus hit his vehicle on Bagerhat-Khulna highway in Barakpur area on Tuesday night.
Thirty passengers of the bus were injured as the vehicle fell into a ditch beside the highway.
In Joypurhat, Abu Sufian, 40, of TNT road was killed when a three-wheeler hit his motorcycle on Hakimpur-Joypurhat road in Nawda village of Panchbibi upazila on Tuesday evening.
He was an assistant stationmaster of Birampur upazila in Dinajpur.
In Bogra Sadar, trucker Ferdous Mia, 35, of Jamalpur village was killed when a tuck ran him over while he was repairing his vehicle after it went out of order on Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Gokul area yesterday.
In Sirajganj, two truck drivers were killed and 13 people injured in a head-on collision between two trucks at Simanto Bazar on the Bangabandhu Bridge west connecting road in Kamarkhanda upazila yesterday.
One of the deceased was Ismael, 40, of Panchagarh.
In Barisal, Abdul Aziz Howlader, 50, a insurence officer , was kiled when a bus rammed his motorcycle on Dhaka-Barisal highway in Mundupasa village yesterday.
Meanwhile in Agailjhara upazila of the district, Alomati Begum, 65, of Bakal village was killed as she fell on the road after a motocycle hit a rickshaw-van carrying her in the village yesterday.
