Road crashes kill 13, injure 44
Thirteen people were killed and 44 others injured in road accidents in six districts yesterday.
In Satkhira, three people were killed and 25 others injured when a bus fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the steering near Satkhira-Khulna road in Subasini area.
The deceased were Champa Rani Mandal, 22, of Kalikapur village, Asaduzzaman, 45, of Khulna and Sulekha Begum, 45, of Jessore.
In Sirajganj, three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between two trucks on Dhaka-Sirajganj highway in Konabari area of Kamarkhanda upazila.
Two of the deceased were Shafiur Rahman, 52 and Dudu Miah, 55.
In Chittagong city, Abul Kashem, 46, of Comilla was killed when a bus hit him while he was crossing the road in Baropool area.
In Mymensingh, Abdul Karim, 48, was killed when a human-hauler ran him over while he was crossing the road in Muktagacha upazila.
In Natore Sadar, an identified person was killed and 10 people were injured when a bus turned turtle and fell into a roadside ditch near Natore-Bogra highway in Nawpara area.
In Rangpur, Md Kamruzzaman, 20, of Changmari village was killed when a microbus hit a truck on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Angrar Bridge area under Pirganj upazila.
In Rangpur city, three people were killed and seven others injured when a bus collided head-on with a three-wheeler on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Hajirhat area.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
