Sahara Begum passes away

Sahara Begum, mother of The Daily Star's Jamalpur correspondent ABM Aminul Islam Liton, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday. She was 75.

She left behind her husband Md Nurul Islam, a retired government official, seven sons, and a host of relatives and  admirers to mourn her death.

Hailing from Kulchuri Char Bandha village in Madarganj upazila of Jamalpur, Sahara had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time.

She tested coronavirus positive at a private hospital in Dhaka from where she was referred to DMCH last week.

The family members have requested all to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
