The Supreme Court yesterday upheld a three-year jail sentence of former Awami League home minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir's son Joy Alamgir in a corruption case.

The SC scrapped a High Court verdict that had acquitted Joy of the corruption charge. On November 5 in 2008, a lower court sentenced him to three years' imprisonment in the case filed for not submitting his wealth statement to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
