Shakhti observes 1st founding anniversary

Shakhti, an area-based network  of friendship for women in the capital, celebrated its first founding anniversary at a Ramna restaurant yesterday.

Women representing 11 different Shakhti networks participated in the programme with music and dance, said a press release.

The members of different areas meet regularly and are always ready to be of assistance if someone needs help.

Shakhti's activities in the past include "Power Camp: Leadership Building", and "Self-defense Training", and weekly radio show "Haat Baralei Shakhti".

Among others, writer Prof Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, and Bangladesh Mahila Parishad Finance Secretary Dilafroz Begum were present.
