A two-day convention of teachers began today at Jahangirnagar University to discuss how to improve the quality of education in the universities of the country
At least 50 teachers from around 30 universities are taking part in the convention organized by University Teachers’ Network, a left leaning university teachers’ group, reports our Jahangirnagar University correspondent.
Professor Sayeed Ferdous of Anthropology Department inaugurated the programme titled “Kemon Biswabidyalay Chai: Uchcha Shikkha-Nitimala-Kathamo” at the gallery of social sciences faculty.
The conference has been divided into two separate sessions -- a public session which is open for all and a workshop for the teachers.
In the conference, the attendees will discuss on how to improve the quality of education in the universities of the country, the policies of education in the universities and so on, said Sayeed Ferdous during the inauguration.
Once the conference is over, a recommendation paper will be written and sent to the universities participating in the programme.
