Three held with 2.65 lakh yaba

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) arrested three people in possession of 2.65 lakh yaba pills in separate drives in Chattogram early yesterday. The drives were conducted at the port city's Bakalia area and Anwara upazila.

The arrestees are Jamir Uddin (36), Ramjan Ali (25), and Kamruzzman (30).

Jamir and Ramjan were held with one lakh pills while Kamruzzman was arrested with 1.65 lakh pieces, said Rab-7 sources.

Jamir and Ramjan were arrested from Shah Amanat Bridge area's Ahad Convention Centre check post, said ASP Mahmudul Hasan Mamun of Rab-7 media wing.

Kamruzzaman was held from Dobhashi Bazar area under Gohira union of Anwara, he added.

The arrestees were handed over to respective police stations. Separate cases were lodged.
