Three killed as car hits parked truck

Three people were killed and three others injured when a car hit a truck parked on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria yesterday.

The victims were in the car, said police.

One of the deceased was identified as Billal Hossain, driver of the car, from Baro Alampur village in Debidwar, Cumilla. Other victims could not be identified immediately.

The accident took place at Amtali in Budhanti union of the upazila around 6:45am, said Mehedi Hasan, sub-inspector of Islampur Police Outpost under Bijoynagar Police Station.

The injured were admitted to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex in Habiganj.
