Trader killed as truck hits van in Dhaka

A chicken trader died after a truck hit their van in Dhaka's Gulshan area early yesterday.

The victim was identified as Maznu Mia (45).

Deceased's brother-in-law Nayan Mia said Maznu brought some chicken to Dhaka from Sherpur on top of a truck late at night.

As he along with another person was taking the chicken to a shop around 4am on a van, a truck hit their vehicle, leaving Maznu dead.

His associate and the van driver sustained minor injuries.

Police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College morgue and were trying to identify the truck, said Sub-inspector Miraj Akond of Gulshan Police Station.
