Traffic cop loses legs in road crash

An on-duty traffic police lost his both legs after a truck ran him over in Muktapur of Munshiganj yesterday.

The injured Kubad Ali, 47, is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Yunus Ali said they arrested the driver Jainul Abedin and seized the truck.

In Nilphamari, Saudi expatriate Wahab khan, 45, of Munshipara area was killed when a mini-bus rammed his motorcycle at Dhalaganj point on Dhaka-Dinajpur highway in Saidpur upazila yesterday.

He came to Bangladesh with three month's leave to attend the marriage ceremony of his daughter.

In Chittagong city, Md Russell, 22, of Bhola was killed when a truck ran him over while he was standing on the road in Majhir Ghat area yesterday.

In Sirajganj, two people, including a freedom fighter, were killed and two others injured as a truck hit a three-wheeler carrying them at Garadah-Bokultola in Shahzadpur upazila yesterday.

The deceased were Chan Miah, 65, a freedom fighter hailed from Rambari and Abdul Mannan, 40, of Garadah village.

Meanwhile in Pabna, a motorcyclist, aged around 30, was killed as a truck hit his vehicle in Vadra area of Chatmohar upazila.
