The International Crimes Tribunal-1 yesterday recorded testimonies and cross-examinations of three defence witnesses in a case filed against three Habiganj men allegedly for committing crimes during the 1971 Liberation War.

Muhibur Rahman Boromia, his brother Mujibur Rahman Angur Mia, and Abdur Razzak of Baniachang upazila in Habiganj are facing four charges. The three, however, pleaded not guilty before the tribunal.

Yesterday, Munnj Mia, Abdur Nur Miah and Tahir Ali gave testimonies as the third, fourth and fifth defence witnesses and they said the accused were neither involved with Razakar Bahini nor committed crimes during the Liberation War.

Prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon completed their cross-examination saying that the witnesses gave "untrue testimonies taking benefits from the accused side".

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Anwarul Haque with members Justice Md Shahinur Islam and Justice Md Shohrowardi adjourned the case proceeding until April 17.
