Two found dead in capital
Police recovered body of an ethnic minority student and a former flight attendant, in two separate incidents, in the capital yesterday.
Police last night recovered body of an ethnic minority student from a footpath in the capital's South Kalayanpur area. The deceased was Harsson Tripura, 20, a first-year student of Haji Mokbul Hossain Degree College, said Faruqul Alam, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Darussalam police station. There was an injury mark on his right jaw, said the OC, adding that he used to live with his brother at their Shaymoli residence. Police detained some persons for quizzing, The OC added.
In the capital's West Rajabazar area, police recovered the decomposed body of a former flight attendant of Qatar Airways from her apartment yesterday afternoon.
Deceased Humaira Jahan Chowdhury, 35, used to live alone on the second floor of a six-storey building, GG Biswas, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police, told The Daily Star.
Quoting locals, police said as malodour emanated from the apartment, neighbours informed the cops, who broke open the door. Her body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
It has been learnt that she left the job of Qatar Airways in 2007.
