Two killed in road crashes, boy hurt

A schoolboy was seriously injured as a bus hit him in front of his school on the Dinajpur-Bogra highway in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur yesterday.

The injured Aminul Islam, 14, a class-nine student of GM Pilot High School is undergoing treatment at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

He is still unconscious due to severe head injury, hospital sources said.

Meanwhile, following the incident his fellow students blocked the highway for two hours. Later, police dispersed the agitators and brought the situation under control.

In Jessore, a female Brac worker was killed as a covered van hit her on Benapole-Jessore highway in Kalagacchi village of Jhikargaccha upazila yesterday.

The deceased was Selina Khatun, 19, a health worker of Navaran Branch of Brac. She was a resident of Charatola village.

In Bogra Sadar, an unidentified man, aged around 40, was killed as a truck ran him over on the Bogra-Rangpur highway in Jhopgari area on Sunday night.
