Two popular restaurants in Sylhet fined

A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion fined Sylhet's popular Pach Bhai and Panshi restaurants Tk 6.5 lakh for preparing and serving unhygienic food.

A team of Rab-9, led by Executive Magistrate Md Akhtaruzzaman, conducted the drive at the restaurants yesterday. The mobile court fined Pach Bhai Restaurant Tk 3 lakh and Panshi Restaurant Tk 3.5 lakh.

Both were fined for preparing and serving food mixed with harmful chemicals, fabric colour and expired food flavour, said the executive magistrate.

Both restaurants were also seen preparing food under unhygienic conditions, he said while talking to journalists after the drive."The drive is part of our regular marketing monitoring. Owners of both restaurants have been cautioned," the official added.
