Water transport workers go on indefinite strike April 20

Bangladesh Noujan Sramik Federation yesterday declared starting an indefinite strike from 12:00am on April 20 demanding Tk 10,000 as the minimum wages for water transport workers.

At a press conference, Shah Alam Bhuiyan, president of the federation, said although the shipping minister on January 16 had promised that the wage board would be fixed within 30 working days, it was yet to be implemented.

The press conference was held at the central office of the federation in capital's Banglabazar.
