Woman found dead in Mirpur building

A woman was found dead on the ground floor of a four-storey building in Boro Bagh of the capital's Mirpur early yesterday.

The body of Renu Khatun, 26, wife of Sumon, an electrician, was hanging in the building's generator room, said Mirpur police Sub-inspector Subrata Kumar Roy.

The couple lived in a room on the floor, said Renu's brother Shafik Mia, adding that they had altercations over different family issues.

Sumon found his wife's body hanging from the ceiling fan in the generator room, landlord Habibur Rahman quoted Sumon as saying.
