Woman scalded 'by husband' in capital dies
A woman, who suffered burns after her husband allegedly poured boiling water over her in the capital's Badda on March 21, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday.
The deceased -- Purnima Akter, 26, -- was undergoing treatment at the hospital with 30 percent burn injuries, said Resident Surgeon Partha Sankar Pal.
Following a family feud, Purnima's husband Mizanur Rahman poured boiling water on her when she was cooking on that day, Officer-in-Charge of Badda Police Station MA Jalil told The Daily Star.
Hearing screams, Purina's mother ran to her residence and rushed her to hospital.
Purnima's brother Amir Hossain said Mizanur has been hiding since the incident.
