Worker dies in Gazipur roof collapse

A construction worker died after a part of the roof of the security guard's house of the deputy commissioner's official residence in Gazipur collapsed on him yesterday.

The identity of the victim, aged around 40, could not be known immediately.

Under the supervision of Public Works Department, the rundown house of the security guard was being demolished.

Admitting that he was not at the site, PWD Sub-Divisional Engineer Shawpan Chakma said he left the spot after directing the hired workers.
