World Day Against Child Labour bserved in Rangpur

World Day Against Child Labour was observed in Rangpur city yesterday.

Marking the day, the programmes, funded by Manusher Jonno Foundation, included a colourful procession, a discussion, an art competition and a cultural programme.

The procession led by Rangpur City Corporation Mayor Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu was joined by hundreds of working children, RCC officials, and NGO activists.

Later, the discussion chaired by RCC Chief Executive Officer Ruhul Amin Khan was held in the RCC auditorium.

Md Mahabubul Haque, coordinator of CLEAR project of Eco-Social Development Organisation; and Md Abul Bashar, assistant director of the department of labour in Rangpur, among others, spoke. Earlier, around 200 children, who are engaged in child labour, participated in the art contest.
