Youth jailed for attempted rape

A mobile court of the Chittagong district administration yesterday sentenced a youth to one-year imprisonment for attempting to rape a woman in the city's Double Mooring area.

The convict Emran Hossain Rana, 28, of Professor Lane in Mughaltuli area, tried to rape the 23-year-girl, a tenant of their building, when she went to his house on Wednesday morning, said the victim. At this she came out of the house and started screaming. On information, police arrested Emran, she added.
