“It's time to act” (February 17, 2014)

Yes, the point is to change it, right, Marx said it well, but who will bell the cat? If mass people consider that recent election was illegitimately done and holding power by the existing government is illegal, then people should come up to rectify it.

“HC challenges RPO clause” (February 17, 2014)

Molla A. Latif
It is a late realization, but this provision is in existence since long in the history of election in Bangladesh. There were many MPs elected uncontested in the past too. We should not forget that the provision of the CTG was introduced by the MPs elected uncontested. If it contradicts with the constitution, then why should the earlier elections be valid? Boycott of an election by a political party may be right but resistance with violence must be foul.

Candidate “elected uncontested” or Candidate “elected by hot contest” are both good to be declared as elected by the rule of democracy. For example, the US, France, Pakistan and Kazakhstan have boycotted the Sochi Olympic, but many other teams have participated, and the determined Olympic committee has held the games as per the rule and schedule. But after the completion of the games and after the distribution of all the medals among the winning participants, can the US and other non-participant countries claim that the Sochi Olympic and all the medal winners are illegal and illegitimate because the US and their said allies didn't participate in the games?
