Prison vans carrying dangerous criminals or extremists must be guarded by well-trained forces whose only task would be to detect and destroy enemy attacker/snatcher by pre-emptive measure. And this measure could have saved not only the lives of both constables and prisoners but also time, energy and resources in the long run.

Why do police always try to avoid bringing the accused or criminals before the media? What are they (police) afraid of? That the names of prominent politicians might be disclosed?

It is worrying that terrorism is rising to a new level in Bangladesh and people are being killed without justice. However, more tragic will be the role of human rights organisations like Amnesty International who may question the killing of this terrorist.
