“U-turn from verdict,” published on February 28, 2014

Jafar Iqbal
Justice delayed, justice denied.

Deep Purple Blue
Hope and pray that justice will be done. The murder must not be compromised on partisan consideration. Nobody should be above law.

Molla A. Latif
Sorry to say, the accused himself was the ruler of the country after all the murders were committed. Did anyone feel then why should a killer be a president?

Muzaffar Siddique
An under-trial prisoner now on bail, who is also the  prime minister's special envoy, proves how far we can go just to hold on to power. Nowhere in the world, I believe, we can find such an example where a person charged with murder is given such an important position. There is nothing people can do or say.

Mohammed Zaman
This is all politics now. Delaying the verdict and lingering the process will keep Ershad's mouth shut against PM Hasina.

Mahboob Hossain
This is very unfortunate that the suspected killer has been appointed by the prime minister as her special envoy.

“Ershad keeps going, and going and going” (February 28, 2014)

Mofi
An excellent article. In the coming days we are likely to see more summersaults, which will be influenced by a complex interplay of factors-- his ambition for power, fear of punishment, aging, desire to achieve fame and the characteristics of a chameleon.

Hafeejul Alam
Thanks indeed to Mohammad Badrul Ahsan for presenting us a nice and timely exposition of the former general-turned dictator. Probably, the chameleon's ability to change colour has dwindled enough to make him an insignificant factor in the political arena of Bangladesh.

Mizan
Ershad has played his cards very well and survived thus far.
