“BNP doesn't have right to criticise budget: Ashraf,” published on June 7, 2014
Jafar Iqbal
It is the duty of Ashraf to criticise the lapses of the budget as a citizen of this country. When he is not doing his duty, BNP is doing it on behalf of him!
Molla A. Latif
Everyone wants to criticise and can do it. And others also have the right to reply to the criticism. Democracy should permit that much.

“Poverty reduction a chimera?” (June 9, 2014)
Hafeejul Alam
It is rather amusing to note that the author cast his doubt about the percentage of poverty reduction, as given by the finance minister but could not prove his own standing by giving any counter figure.
Rich-poor gap is a worldwide phenomenon and of course Bangladesh is no exception. The government should take steps to minimise the gap. On the other hand, we should also feel proud that despite many odds, Bangladesh is marching forward as an emerging economy in South Asia and its social development parameters have been praised among the international community.

“PM sees 'plot' against Osmans” (June 4, 2014)
S. M. Iftekhar Ahmed
Clearly, she is determined to patronise this family.
Jafar Iqbal
Top AL leaders are thinking that all they need are terrorists, criminals and police as the tools to stay in power and not people's support.
Mortuza Huq
No wonder the PM has taken Osman's side. She has disassociated herself from the people a long time ago.
Aasfisarwar
The most disturbing thing is her support and love for someone who was caught red-handed by the intelligence agencies via listening devices.
Hafeejul Alam
From her recent comments, it appears that the prime minister is on the wrong side of the political fence. This is really disgraceful.
PlainSpeaker
Mark her words; “Their [families and individuals] small offences are always magnified. But there are many people who commit major crimes, which are always overlooked by the vested quarters.” What does it mean? How can the PM of a country make such a statement?
Truthprevails53
Well said, PM. But please get rid of the weeds in your party.
